Hi all, I had a quick look under the bonnet at work today for the data plate. Call me blind, but I couldn't see the bloody thing. Can I ask two questions?

1. Where will I find the data plate?
2. Does anyone know the GVM? I weighed mine today and it's 2735 kg.

Its on the pillar on the passager's side.

Next question, what's the procedure regarding having gvm increased? I imagine an engineer of some sort. Mine is gonna be damned close to gvm if not over by the time I add jerries of fuel, fridge, second spare and other gear for the Gibb river trip? Probably only need a one off extension for the trip really. Thanks.

Any points of contact in the NT would be awesome.

Can anyone tell me what the combined loaded weight of my Prado and Camper trailer must be under? And where to find this in the log book?

Was that with an empty car? I think I will have to get a GVM increase after the next mod.

I weighed mine today and it's 2735 kg.

My GVM+D would exceed that by a long way. (Gross Vehicle Mass plus Driver)

Slip out to Goyder Road test shed and speak to an inspector. They would be the ones to give you the correct advice.
From memory there is a mod application that goes to a commitee for approval ( or not ) I forget the acronym they use.

Just noticed this mob in WA, did a GVM upgrade on a FJ Cruiser, same underbelly as a 150 prado?. So can be done to the new prado????

I had read the Lovells kit when used on a LC 200 series had to be done prior to first registration to be blue plated as a new GVM...may vary state to state
