  • Front speaker adapters

    Hello,
Does any one know where I can buy speaker adapters for my front speakers,as I intend to upgrade the factory ones.
    Thanks for any feed back.

    Hi Lurker,

I have just replaced the speakers in the four doors last weekend. In my case, I made spacers for each speaker using 12mm ply. I used 1 spacer for the rear door speakers, and ended up using 3 spacers for the fronts. I found that the larger window glass inside the door frame made the fronts in need of more spacing.

While it took a few hours of work with some 'engineering on the fly', the results are well worth it. I could not get over how cheap and nasty the standard speakers were. The magnet in them is not much bigger than a 50 cent piece.

    Have fun.

    Neale.

      Front speaker spacers

      Thanks for your reply,
The reason why I asked about adapters is because in the US you can purchace ready made adapters for a cheap price .The only problem being that Toyota US do not sell the Prado therefore no such adapters exist that I know of. Never mind, looks like Ill be taking out my wood working tools.
Im only going to change my fronts ,the fronts I have chosen are about 3 1/4 inch deep .
Do you see me having any issues with the depth???

      Cheers
      Joe

Hi, was wondering if you had the dimensions for the speaker slots. Front and rear, or if you could let us know what you put then we could get an idea of the size. Want to replace my existing speakers, but not sure what will fit. Thanks
