Check if they do the Backbone for the 120. On the 150 the backbone is lower than the legs
Thanks, alas not, I've just been through the catalogue.
If the RLCP legs and platform will fit in the carparks anyway, I'm inclined to agree with AMTS that the difficulty in being able to pass straps or rope under the backbone might not be ideal for me anyway.

If the lower capacity and higher clearance requirement didnt bother me (and I dont think they do...) is there any other reason why the rail mounted Pioneer Platform shouldn't be chosen... http://www.rhinorack.com.au/products...1236mm-_ja0093
They are a fair bit cheaper overall than the feet mounted version, and I only want to use it for a swag, chainsaw and an awning.

I can't think of one Spilsy! Certainly easier to fit and cheaper. I think it's the vortex clamps, but as you say they are rated to carry the standard 80kg (on road) so should be fine.
If you are fitting a 2.5m long awning, just be aware of the maximum overhangs. These are usually 600mm. So mounting a 2.5m awning onto crossbars fitted on the roof rails will usually exceed this overhang. A Pioneer Platform (and other long platforms) is advantageous in this way.

The steel platform is basically what I have now (except I made mine) ant it sits atop a couple of Aldi roof bars attached to the rails.
I remove all of this when Im not out camping - which is a PITA as its heavy and awkward.
This year, I'm looking to do something a little more permanent and long term - hence the Pioneer Platform.
My awning is only 2m long, because I didn't want much in the way of overhang...
My preference is to use the feet and have the platform mounted directly to the roof, however if the finances wont allow it, option 2 will be the version that attaches to the rails.

Certainly a great read with this thread. I'll probably end up heading out to one of the specialists to check this out for my 150. Living in an apartment block doesn't help so I'm keen to see this Backbone height vs the standard Pioneer Platform. Good info all round guys.
I have just purchased a Front Runner Slimline II (which I think was previously called WindCheetah) from Daniel at expedition centre in Mortdale. Just awaiting delivery. Size is 1964 x 1255.
Seems the Slimline II uses a different mounting system to the original's track system which is a bit of a shame. I do believe however the overall height of the MKII is 5mm lower than the original, which may mean I don't have to remove it for daily drive purposes anyways. Time will tell.
Will post pics up once installed if anyone is interested.
As a sidenote, I cannot recommend Daniel's service highly enough. Very fast to respond to my many dumb questions and was happy to do a deal that I was happy with. Got a few pair of eye bolts thrown in as well

Yep highly recommend the Tradesman Oval racks having used on our 90 series previously and now the 150. Currently have the alloy version with 'low clearance side rails' which keeps the height a bit more manageable for carparks etc.

Surely a rubber strap on each roller would be a quick and easy fix. One hook under the bottom of the rack, pull the strap over the roller and hook it to the top of the roof rack.
just tape them im a sparky so plenty of elec tape , they are good for throwing kayaks on like on roof so not a bad option just calling out they spin and took me a while to know what noise was.
