Hi Rob. On the scangauge it is set around 40.4%. I had a car trailor on last night from Wagga to Cobar and i think the scangauge was running a little light. Fuel light come on at 26L not 22L (on the scangauge). So when i fueled up today a change it to 42%.

      Hi Guys.
had the light on and refilled. first click was 136litres. over the next 10 minutes with a litre at a time put in another 14 litres, I was starting to believe that I must have had another 10+ litres left after the KM's left was saying zero. I think that could end up being an incorrect assumption if your not careful.

        Hey Bigs....
Yeah, that sounds similar to mine as well. Around town it running 44% but when towing the Van it changes and drops down around 35%..... Must be due to the angle of the car sitting when the van is on the back..... but still don't really understand it.....

Just got my 150 series ... the first fill I had 5 km's left on the trip computer & managed to get only 130 litres in. Just filled up today for the second time & was driving around with 0 km's left on the trip computer for about 6 km's stressing that I was going to run out ! & then only managed to get 135 litres in the tank ... sounds like the reserve would be 20 litres like Richo said.

            Hi Chicko

Congrats on the new 150, have you managed to wipe that smile off your face yet. I'm thinking of putting a jerry in the car and driving till it stops to see how much you can get out of the reserve.

            Have a great time, Richo.

Running with the Scangauge and it is spot on correct at each fill when towing or not, I have added 50 litres and when it came to fill up the Scanguage said 170 litres required and it took 120 (after letting the foam settle). The only time the Scanguage has been in error was with 4WD, then it said I would take 105 and it took 98 litres. The thought was that the fuel tank was reduced to allow for seating below the floor. The seats sit above the floor and there is a huge amount of room around the reserve fuel tank, I suspect the reduction capacity is about weight. Does anyone know if the 120 series tank can be fitted to the 150 series?

I have just pushed my 2011 GXL to 1440 km off the tank and this did 206 km on the fuel light and 140 km from 0km on the distance to go gauge. When I filled it the first time it was 154L and the second 1440 km was 151L and interestingly both times I have filled to this amount it has completely solved the clicking out issue, getting around 145 l in before slowly adding the last few liters slowly untill it is at the filler cap.

My GXL is averaging around 10.1 l per 100 kms but it is no slouch sitting on 120-130 kph and with an average speed of 89 kmh for the 1440 km, drop the speed back to 95-100 kph and it's a whole world of difference averaging 8.2 l per 100 kms

Yeah i have noticed that when i fill my prado up my trip computer only says 1350km, but when i worked it out with the 150l tank and my average fuel of 9L/100km around town and highway use it seems that i'm missing up to 300km on the trip computer (not that I would try to push it that much after fuel light) so it would be interesting to see how big of a reserve they actuall have...

Still about fuel, but not quite on topic. Does anyone know if you can replace the fuel tank in the 3 door Prado with a larger tank and if so what size and brand? I can't find anything in my hunting. We already have a 5 Door Prado 150, but we're thinking about changing our RAV for the 3 door, but want more fuel in reserve. (As you can see we're pretty rapt in the Prado.)

                    Thanks in advance.

                    Cheers,
                    Di and Bruce

I'm not sure if it would fit the 3 door, but you could give them a call and ask if they had anything available.

                          Peter,

Thanks for the info. I'd looked at long range but only seemed to be able to find for the earlier Prado. What's shown there would be brilliant.

                          Cheers,

                            Hi all,

                            Very interesting reading here.
With some of the figures mentioned in posts 22 & 23, I'm guessing that the Prado's are standard, ie; no roof rack & basket & no suspension lift. I haven't pushed mine to see how far I can get out of 1 tank, but from everyday driving the trip computer reads around the 1078 km. On the highway it reads around the 1200 km mark, from memory. (its been a while since I have been on a long run.)

                            Cheers

just be carefull with running the diesel out of fuel as these pumps use the fuel to lubricte it and will cost big $$$ if it needs replacing. i get about 1250 to the 125 l.
