Hi everyone

This is my second post here since introducting myself, once again great site, it would be nice if someone could develop a PP app for iphone or android . My prado is on order and probably 8-10 weeks away and my question is who do you guys insure with? or who are best/ best value for money?

I was quoted $68.00per month by allianz with an excess of 350, any suggestions would be much appreciated

sounds cheap, their is a whole thread on insurance already covering a lot of this.

Sounds like a good deal.
I paid $780 for the year with Windscreen cover and a fixed value of 65k to cover my accessories. SGIO in Perth
Excess is $500 though!

I have friends paying nearly that for a 2007 Patrol DX worth less than half my prado's value.

Don't forget if you plan on going off road that you will be covered by your insurance provider .............not all do!

That price seems pretty good. My quote is just over $100 a month. with about $1000 excess. But that's all due to age.

I pay about $1400, and that is with a rating 1. But I have the top cover that includes agreed value to cover the extras. I figure you get what you pay for and some cheaper companies will not pay up if your accident is off road

With QBE preferred driver/4 year new car replacement/windscreen/lifetime NCB I paid $706 with a $400 excess. However, reading the fine print next year it will be substantially higher as this is 'special new vehicle discount'.

I actually had a cheaper quote but was happy with the RAA's dealing with an off road 4wding accident i had a couple of years back with my 120, new rear door, bumper and light cluster 2 weeks after the accident so the cover offroad was tried and tested. CGU was $790 with no driver under 30 covered and $400 excess.

RAA is definitely one of the better insurers I believe, never had a problem with them when making claims etc.

I got quoted $1050. (24yo, rating 1). Didn't enquire about off road protection (might have to look into that) with AAMI. Budget was $880.00 but I like dealing with AAMI, you always get a person and not a stupid computer.

What I ended up doing is taking a 6 month policy ($560) as I'll be 25 in 4 months and the premium will come down heaps... (advice from AAMI rep). Either they have awesome customer service, or if this rep's boss catches him, he's f&*@ed.

My brand new Holden UTE a couple of years ago was $860 on the same policy. Got rid of that thing 9 months into it though

Found this... I guess I'm covered... but if I have an accident I can't drive myself back to safety or they won't cover me, so it's better if I stay in the desert and die

Off road driving
AAMI’s policy will cover your car while it is being driven off-road. However, please note that AAMI anticipates that the driver takes reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the car.

There are a number of restrictions under AAMI’s Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy. You are not covered for the following:

If your car was in an un-roadworthy or unsafe condition that contributed to the accident being a condition that was known to and disregarded by you.
If your car was being used or tested in or for a race, trial, test or contest or on a competition circuit, course or arena (unless your was being driven by you on a safe driving training course commercially conducted by trained instructors).
Loss or damage caused intentionally by you or by a person acting with your express or implied consent.
Any additional loss or damage to your car as a result of it being driven after an accident.

you're covered, just not for any additional damage you cause by driving your vehicle after an accident?
