I think you'll find limited edition doesn't mean a specific number in this case it just means you get a shiny badge and a few run out items.

          • Wooley, jealousy is a curse.... hence you have to try to and down-play the additional bits and pieces you get in an Altitude instead of your GXL

I don't think they are that limited as far as numbers go, i've seen three or four in my area already. My guess is that they made thousands of em. That doesn't detract from how impressed i am with mine though.
I love it's shiney badge and runout items.

              • I believe they will be built til the end of april, once all stock is sold that will probably be it. Unless toyota are happy with the extra sales and margin, then they will probably stretch the run out.

I'm happy with my gxl (or will be if it ever gets here), id rather spend the extra 10k at arb!

Times 2 both on the extras and whether my car will get here

I went to see the dealer yesterday and Altitudes are there and ready for delivery yet my GXL still has no planned production date?

I think 8-10 k difference can be put into some very nice extras?...............but the wait i killing me.

                  • I paid an extra 5k for my Altitude, which makes them a pretty good buy imo. 8-10k extra is BS.

I agree that the price should have been 5K difference however no great deals on the Altitude. Discounts available on the Altiitude were small in comparison the to the GXL.

I picked up my GXL Prado Auto Petrol for $57300 On Road (excluding some extras). I was willing to pay the extra 5K for the Altitude over the GXL but no dealer could do it for $62300 (or even close).

If a dealer would do it for the extra 5K I will change my order and get the Altitude, if not GXL for me.

                      • I paid 58800 for diesel gxl auto with a few extras chucked in. I was in the same boat and would have happily taken an altitude for $64k if they were available for that, would have paid more if they were available in a non-pearl white too!

Downplay? I would tend to agree the satnav and dvd player are "runout specials" that being said I probably would have went with one if it had KDSS. we ended up with a VX.

                          • I ended up paying $9k more than a GXL.
I was going to option the GXL up with leather & sunroof so it then worked out to $4K more.
The stereo is fantastic & my grandaughter watches the DVD player when she is in the car.
The sat nav got me to a small road in Toolangi yesterday which the iphone could not find.
The optitron dash is also a bonus .
Front park assist is a pita especially now with the bull bar you can see the front of the car from the drivers seat.
In the end it cost me $6k less than a VX which I spent at ARB.
                            Cheers

                            • Has anyone else had the dealer programme the keys so when you hold down the unlock button for a couple of seconds, all windows and sunroof open - same thing in reverse when holding down the lock button. Awesome!
