Bought mine from Mandurah because they were willing to match the lease company purchase price without hesitation. No other dealer in WA got within $2500 of their price - Melville was about $4000 more.

As for servicing, I took it back for the 1000k service and was not impressed with the standard. I now take mine to Melville who seem OK, but are not without their faults. It doesn't matter which Toyota dealer you take your Prado to for fixed price servicing.

I signed on the dotted line on New Years Eve and got a good deal. I'm told that the end of January is also a good time to buy.

I have recently picked up a new GXL 150TD, If you are looking for the best service and price do yourself a favour and give the Sales manager Carl or salesman Nathan cusacxk a call at City Toyota in perth. feel free to send me a message to know what i paid if that helps.

Got my 150 ZR SWB from Nedlands Toyota as a demo with 16,000km on it. They were $8000 cheaper than other dealers with demos that had between 9 - 10,000km on it, I got the best price for my trade-in (tried 3 other toyota dealers), free rubber mats, half a tank of diesel (most give an oily rag's worth these days) and it came in under the luxury car tax price. Was happy with that. Get it serviced at City Toyota in Northbridge (on the way to work) and they've been great. Send reminders for service by letter and SMS.
2009 Prado 150 ZR SWB, Silver Pearl, Snorkel, Tow Bar, 2" lift Tough Dog shocks and springs, BFG LT 265/65/18, ARB bullbar, GME TX3340 radio, ARB awning and mosquito tent. I have one life, why waste it wishing away when I can get out there and have fun!

Got my first rig (90 series) from Kalamunda Toyota. Was many years ago now and not sure if they are still there.

Noted a comment above re trading in at $16 and they resold at $26. That's life, they are there to make a buck. My 90 got me $10k and was sold in 5 hours for $17k. She looked sweet once the detailers had done their thing. Only had 180k on the clock and was a 1998 GXL model.

+1 on this, Nathan sorted out my new car too, really top bloke, honest as can be, no bull**** and no harasment to buy, buy, buy.
If you want finance with it talk to Craig Bartrop same dealwership he is the most hilarious clown i've ever dealt with, in a good way, had me and the missus in stitches. The day we had key hand over he came out in a sobraro and some sunglasses sans lenses (just frames) that would put Dame Edna Everage (spelling) to shame.

Also if you want servicing got to City Toyota (northbridge) and speak to Chriss Kounis same as Nathan, doesnt beat around the bush and tells you exactly what is need how much and how long up front, no messing around.

** Foot note i have an affiliation with Chris Kounis of City Toyota, but all comments are based on customer - sevice provider basis, and those of other people who have dealt with him **

I bought my kakadu from scarborough Toyota, very nice when doing the deal, got shafted on the delivery...when i went to pick up my car i was in a rush so didn't look over things carefully, got home and the car wasn't even detailed, it was quite dirty and even had scratches where you pull the door handles.. called them a few days later when i had the time and they blamed me for the scratches! also requested 12mths rego, and they gave me 6mths rego...also didn't even fill the tank up left it on "E" for enough to get home!

Then started getting all these messages to bring my car into them for servicing!! ignored them all and took my car to CITY TOYOTA in northbridge as that is where i've taken all my previous toyota's and these guys are the BEST! professional, honest, reliable and most of all FAIR! I have a DP Chip installed in my car and have left it in there on every service and no problems. Also had TJM do some work on the car and had a slight minor issue with installation and the guys at City Toyota sorted it out free of charge.. The guys there have been very accommodating! Bout to buy another Prado for work so will see City Toyota Sales and give them a go..

                Conclusions -
                Scarborough Toyota = Sharks
City Toyota Northbridge = Best customer service/Toyota service centre ever (i also come from a customer service background and these guys tick all the boxes)

Another vote for servicing at City Toyota Northbridge. If the service advisor doesn't know the answer he will get the workshop foreman straight up to customer service to talk with you without you having to ask!

I've bought both my Prado's from Bunbury Toyota through Mark Docking. He definately did the best deal and the service and follow up was exceptional, I would't go anywhere else.

If you're looking for a second hand vehicle I'm still considering selling mine, of course the price is negiotable and there are a few more kms on the clock now.

Thanks for everyone's advice, it looks like the lease company's dealer is going to be the most competitive. I have started the following thread to chase some advice.

I serviced at Melville for the first 2 years and found them very difficult. They say a lot, but also forget a lot. You would think they would use the computers they sit in front of, but I think they just pretend to know what they are doing. Also they are very busy.
I then moved to Prosser in Canning Vale in hope of some relief. Again they say they are doing something but then nothing happens.

At both dealership I felt like the service reps we not interested, rude and deceitful. At both I was told "Yes we will definetly call you back" only to never be called.
I have has some help from both, but the negatives far out weigh the positives.

I purchased the car from Melville. I received no discounts or special offers. For accessories I was just given the price list and told to pick what i wanted. I recieved a similar attitude from Prosser Gosnells.
When I went in to pick the car up on the agreed date, they didn't even have it there. I had to wait while someone went to get it, and then it was handed over unwashed and I was given the keys and a 5 minute 'how to' with the car.

So from my experience avoid Melville and Canning Vale.
I have one service (service advantage) left which I was considering going somewhere other than Toyota, but I might give City or Rockingham a go based on the advice of others in this thread.

                              Scott.

I also bought my Prado at Melville and got an excellent deal with accessories thrown in and it really didn't take much haggling.

I have had excellent service and they have fixed things like the mudflaps without any problems, and some other minor warranty issues fixed no questions asked. It is worth getting to know the service guys.
