I went with the opposite lock bull bar, almost the same as the ARB but with LED indicators and park lights, colour code of the standard no metalic white is 040 and very scratch resistant, thousands of mining companies go that way for a reason and i have been down some very bushy tracks without any scratchesClick image for larger version

Nice looking bar, they didn't have them out when I bought my ARB, probably would have given that one serious consideration. If you are buying from OL in Brisbane, try Greg Browne at Underwood, they just fitted my winch and the service was fantatsic, price competative and nothing too hard.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Well I have placed the order so now it is just a case of waiting until end of April early May according to the lease company.

Some mates are organizing a West to East trip through the Simpson via Gun Barrel in August so will see if I am ready for that one.

This forum is awesome for information on modifying the Prado, some great tips and ideas.

I have just ordered a GXl through the lease and have told the company that I would be getting the extras done after picking the car up from Toyota and the guy asked me if I wanted to add this to the lease!! I think about 8k worth of extras was going to cost me an extra2.5k for the LCT so I will do it after.

and then there is fringe benefit tax that gets paid on the total price each year. Much better to do after.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

I don't think it makes much difference. Assuming a salary sacrifice arrangement, when you save with pre-tax contribution you lose some through LCT and FBT. Parts purchased with the lease are GST free. Toyota usually get discounts that individuals can't get from places like ARB etc. so there are more savings there.

Remember that when you buy after the purchase, you will pay GST and usually close to full retail price. To compare apples, calculate the gross income you need to earn to purchase after market. Then compare that with the lease option, taking into account the taxes.

This reminds me how rediculous it is to buy a car and accessories in Australia. Successive governments really screwed up. But I won't get on that soap box here.
