Anyone with a VX sat nav pack (or kakadu) able to listen to music via Bluetooth? I have a 4s as well. Phone works fine. Never been able to get music via bluetooth (only via USB cable).
Hi Nasdy,
Yep! exact same issue. Apparently, the VX/Kakadu does not have Bluetooth Streaming (A2DP). The vehicles which have the rear seat DVD have this option deleted on the head units? I don't know why but i agree with you that the interface for the iPod control on the Nav screen is a pain (but it's really the only option if you connect via USB).
The other alternative is to get a split cable like this one:
(plenty on ebay as well) and combine it with a Cig lighter to USB charger and use the AUX IN option. This will allow you to use the Ipod interface on your iPhone.
I personally chose to live with interface on the Nav unit and have purchased a windscreen suction mount and iPhone holder from these guy's http://www.holdmyphone.com.au/ and am extremely pleased with the result. I routed a 3m cable from the USB port down the side of the centre console, ubove the drivers footwell and up the door trim and have the holder as low as possible at the bottom of the RHS window. There's also a specific Prado option but the centre console one was too far away and the other option (centre AC vent), the wife wasn't willing to give up her vent for my phone holder so the windscreen option it was.
if you need some photo's just let me know and i'll post some up.
