Did anyone try "Toyota Insurance", the insurance arm of Toyota?? I know they maybe dearer than some of the others, but we ended up using them, as the quote given by speakerphone in the dealers office from Suncorp, was dearer than Toyota Insurance, when we picked up our GXL in March last year. Surely they should be able to give insurance on a Prado Altitude.

we are taking out insurance with toyota insurance as they are the only ones we found who will insure us for an altitude as racq, aami, and shannons had nothing listed. Toyota will insure as prado gxl plus all additional extras with an agreed value of rrp for altitude until system updates which wont be for up to another month at which stage the other insurers may have their system updated and we will go back to our normal insurer.

our car arrived yesterday but not ready for delivery yet - cant wait.

After a few phone calls to AAMI, Allianz, GIO....., not one had Prado Altitude in their system, Finally found RACV has actually listed Prado Altitude SE on their website.

RACV and NRMA are the same company, I quoted market value $61000 as well, however you get new replacement if the car is a write off in the first 2 years.

I have ordered my new SE Altitude and expect to take delivery around the 16th March. Can't wait!!!!! I have quite a few policies with Youi Insurance. I contacted them today and they do actually have the Altitude in their data base so insurance cover was quick and easy. I also got a great price.

Hey Juvan congrats, you will love it. We are very happy with out Altitude. Just be sure that they have not allocated your policy against the 200 series Altitude.

How much was your policy for insurance if I may ask?

Well what a stuff around i have had. I originally was quoted about $800 (full comprehensive) with Youi however because we have 2 x home policies, 2 x contents policies and another vehicle policy I was considered to be a "VIP customer", Their words not mne. As such they offered me a full comprehensive policy on the altitude for about $425 per year. Awesome is what came to mind. Anyways now that my beloved 120 series is going and I'm picking up the Altitude this coming Friday I rang them to let them know. I was told 'we are very sorry but we cannot offer that price as there was an error in our system". GREAT !!!, The new price is $725 which is still not too bad but a far cry from $425. On top of this they now say that the Prado Altitude is not in their system until the end of the month. I have taken this policy as a VX at this stage and it will be reviewed at the end of the month when the Altitude is in the system. This is definitely not enough to wipe the smile from my face cause I'm picking up the Altitude this Friday. Yeehah still can't wait. Two sleeps to go.

AAMI and Allianz list the Altitude on their web sites and are around the same price, Alliance offered a better market value of around $72K, AAMI was about $69K.

                      Enjoy your new Altitude.....
