CF40 or CF50 you will find will draw 4-5A when the compressor is running, it will tick along just under 2A normally on 12v.
I can remember exactly but the inverter in my 150 is 100w ? at 240v thats 0.4 of an amp. This is only good for charging small netbooks and telephones.... thus why you are cooking them.
Run a dedicated 4-6mm supply from your battery down the back for the fridge, my CF50 stays in there and constantly runs on level "2".Last edited by alternative; 26-04-2012, 02:23 PM.2011 GXL D4D Auto | ARB Deluxe winch bar | Bilstein/Ridepro platinum lift | MT ATZ P3's | Dick Cepek Torque rims | Airtec snorkel | Lightforce Genesis 55w HID | GME UHF | 55w HID high beam | Rhino Rack bars & Cage | ISI extreme rack | Dual Optima Batteries | Milford MXV-70 cargo barrier | ARB onboard air | Prodigy P3 | Drawers & Black widow fridge slide | Waeco CF-50 | Kaymar rear bracket and LED light | EscapeGear seat covers | Sandgrabbas and more...

When I picked up my car the dealer told me very clearly the inverter was not to be used to run a fridge, it was merely there as a convenience to charge a mobile phone or laptop if you need and that's it. If you want to run a fridge you need to use the 12V in the back of the centre console.
One of the problems I guess with the design, personally I would have preferred the 12V to be in the rear and the inverter to be behind the console but when I get my dual batteries set up, I'll get a couple of 12V points in the back

No need to wait for a second battery to run a cable to the rear. I set up a switch relay near the main battery that runs power to my accessories from the aux battery and switches over to the main battery when the ignition is on. This results in faster charging of the aux battery after camping as the isolater is only supplying charge current to the aux battery and not running fridges etc at the same time. You could do this and power from the main full time until an aux is installed. I ran an 8sqmm cable off a 30 amp fuse to a terminal block behind the access panel where the jack is stored and ran from there to two 12v outlets, hard wired fridge lead and the aux power pin on the seven pin trailer socket. Good power down the back all the time. I problems with fridge power, burnt sockets and sockets going high resistance both Hella and cigarete types and after hard wiring the fridge eight years ago, had no issues since. Interesting in the nearly two years i have had the 150, I have never had reason to use or test the inverter. I assume it only runs when acc or ignition are on.Prado Polar White 150 GX 3.0 TD Auto. That plug was identified in the useful wires thread. I think the consensus is that this is the 12V socket in the GXs and is fused with the supply to the inverter. I actually use this to trigger my DC DC charger. Better to run some heavier cable.
The inverter is good for charging camera batteries and the like that don't come with a 12V charger, but that is about it.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I've run both an Engel 40L and a Waeco CF80 80L fridge (not at the same time !) on 240V using the standard inverter in the rear of a 150 facelift GXL.Last edited by maulbeagle; 21-01-2015, 04:47 PM.

Must say I did run a waeco 35litre off of the 240 volt until I fitted a 12 volt supply
I had no problems and invertor still works fineLast edited by snapper49; 22-01-2015, 11:33 AM.

Why not use the 12v supply on the back of the centre console? My Engels lead reaches easily, we used it this way the second weekend we had the car on a camping trip. Only works on accessories though, fridge was only used for drinks.Silver 150 Facelift
