  • Pairing more then one phone to the car.

    Hi All,

Are you able to pair more than one phone to the same car? I have tried pairing one phone and then the next, all that happens is it removes the first phone paired.

In my old car it would setup the first phone as a primary phone and the second phone wouldn't connect to the car when the primary phone was in the car.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Was wondering the same as we have two iPhones, it only seems to like to work with mine even if only the missus is in the car.

If anyone knows how to fix this I'd be interested to hear as I haven't been able to pair the 2 iPhones to my car

I have an IPhone and a HTC, only one can pair at a time, If I select the other phone, it disconnects the first one, I believe only one phone at a time can be paired even though they both appear on the list on the radio.

You can have multiple phones paired but only 1 at a time.for some dumb reason Toyota made it so you have to manually switch phones in the menu instead of the Bluetooth system just searchingh for the next available phone.my wife and I both have our phones paired and just change the active phone in the Bluetooth menu depending on who is driving.

If you press the voice recognition button on the steering wheel and repeat the tag you saved to that phone when setting it up it'll change also.

And... If u have two phones paired, if there is only one phone in the car when u start it, it will pair with that phone. If u have both phones in the car when you start it, it will pair to the one that was most recently the actively connected one.

Which model Prado do you have, because this doesn't seem to work with the stereo in my GXL

At least the prado is simple. Our new corolla sport is goddam complicated but can link up to 5, thats 5, phones at once. It even comes with a fella in the back seat with a phd in multimedia setup and he doesnt understand it either. I am going to get him service bulletined at the next service.

That doesn't work for us - we paired both ours but it only works with mine, will give it another go

I tried this with mine last night but the voice recognition did not pick up the tag for my phone. Something I am doing wrong I am sure

We have my blackberry and the wife's iphone4 paired and just switch them over depending on who's driving, although that is a bit of a mission, has taken a silly old fart like me a few months to remember how to work though the menu to do it and only recently managed to convince the wife that it was easier to do that than pay the wallopers for talking on the phone while driving.
Still manages to catch us out when oth in car and have forgotten which one is paired (normally hers during the week and mine in weekends)
