Found this when installing Amts Bashplates.....

    Found this when installing Amts Bashplates.....

    When I was installing Amts Bashplates I found this jammed between the from X-member and the Power Steering arm. Hoping someone can tell me what this is and where it comes from.....
    It's made from plastic and has the letters "NL" on the back

    It is part of the lining from the original toyota bash plate... Not exactly sure of why it is there in the first place...
    Possibly a sounds dampener for the thin metal used?

    But if you look on the 'inside' area of the front section of the original bash plate you should see some tabs that this would attach too - the white plastic faces down so you can only see the back fabric side.

      The same part fell out when I installed the bashplates on Wooley's 150. It's still on my garage floor somewhere.

        The 120 series has similar larger versions of the same thing... Not that it helps identify what it is actually for...

              Oh dear! That's the thingy whatsit. What ever you do DO NOT remove it. There are reports that the duvalacky will short if the whatever is touches the body as a result. ... Guess you upthecreek now, nevermind, do nothing and she should be right.

                I had one of those once. Collector of mud gravel sticks leaves dead animals insects etc etc etc.
                Removed it, threw it away.
                Made absolutely no bloody difference to anything whatsoever.
                Maybe fuel consumtion was less? - wasn't carrying the weight of all the aforementioned crap around.....
                Wonder what TMC would charge for a replacement???
