  • Radiator Bug Screen

Any one know where I can get a good quality one of these, I know some members have made thier own from fly screen but I really like the look of the custom made metal one's but cant find where to get one, I've tried all the usual, ebay, dealers etc but not what I'm looking for, basically this one is custom made and fits round the Toyo badge and is a metal grill if thats a help,
    thanks in advance,
    Davo

        For the grill?

get a portion of flyscreen for $5, open the bonnet, remove the black plugs and replace securing the screen, Push the surplus in with a small screwdriver and secure the bottom (of the grill) with small cable ties. Save a fortune and your radiators and easy to clean.

Bigger gaps use mesh from Supercheap and existing number plate mounts.

Confusing aye ? they told me the same thing, Keeper has the right idea and would save a heap but you'd think you could buy them fairly cheap ? maybe you can if you could find out who sells them but it's way too hard googled it to death and tried the dealers but still no luck .............

I used the one left over from my 80 series cruiser. Metal frame and mesh. Removed the Prado grill, and attached the screen to the rear side of the grill with zip ties. Only had to cut out a small section to clear the bonnet release lever.

TJM sell them. I can't remember the brand but they definitely have a 150 series one.

If you have a bullbar I'd suggest putting something over the front of the bullbar.

Giving you a space between the mesh and grill.

I've seen some vehicles over heat after being plastered with bugs and having the mesh screen blocked up in their grill.

Depends how many bugs you're likely to catch I suppose.

I went to toyota who told me they have screens for 150 for about $100 and showed me in their catalogue. I would prefer to attach to inside of grill as they are said to we're away the chrome from the plastic grill over time.
