  • Altitude prices continue to rise does that mean no other special models?

I always like to keep up to date with pricing of the Prado and I was surprised to see prices up almost 10% on what I found on the Internet 3 months earlier.

It got me thinking that if the Altitude was a runout type model then what (if any model)is coming to take its place?

Given the current pricing I don't believe dealers are trying to shift these vehicle which means to me there may be no replacement to fill the void it filled between the GXL and the VX?

Anybody have any ideas whether there is a replacement model in the wings?

Geez I hope not only picked up my Prado last week. Would no surprise if a new model is coming, that would top off a great couple of months. Ha, anyway new wheels are a sweet ride, happy so far. Tony

Perhaps they wanted to get rid of surplus sunroofs and GPS nav systems. Given a major prado update is not due until late next year earliest, Its possible this years update will just be minor cosmetic and the new Internet connected nav/radio system that's been gradually introduced in the USA over the last 12 mths. Just a hunch.

From talking to nearly every toyota dealer in Perth over the last 2 days, the Altitude will be back around this time next year. This was from 3 different dealers. They are releasing the second round of 200 series altitudes shortly, and then an Altitude kluger and rav 4.

Also, a rumor is the GXL will get the sat nav in the 2013 build. please note- a rumor!!

so much for limited release, hold their value much better. What a scam to sell more cars.
Buy these they are special/limited editions.

Who got told you have to order today these are only made for this month and once they are over there are no more.

          I smell a rat.

LOL! You actually believed that? Considering they've been selling 200 altitudes for years...

All manufacturers release special editions to move stock. Why wouldn't the make a huge volume.

              Hi All,

I came from a 2004 NP Petrol/LPG Pajero which happened to be a 21st Anniversary (Special Edition) and when LPG prices increased earlier this year we decided to make the move to a new diesel. This is our first Prado and with a wife and two young kids the Altitude ticks all the boxes, with comfort, DVD screen, GPS and Sunroof. So for us the extra $$$ have been worth the investment (National Fleet discount didn't hurt either) and most importantly the family love the car, and I love towing the Expanda van with it compared with the LPG Pajero.

As Darryl Kerrigan would say "Everyone's kicked a goal"

              Cheers,
              Andrew
