This has taken 9 weeks to date and now they have told my daughter that as they were paying monthly for their insurance before RACQ would payout they had to pay the balance of 5 monthes to complete the full years insurance policy!

Beware their promises and tv ads are are all crap they do not care at all about their customers just how they can refuse their obligations! My advice don't touch them.

By the way I have been an RACQ member for 36 years and will now not be renewing my membership.

    Richo.
I too have been with them that long (gold member) and like you stand by my claim they are THEE most expensive company and the policy is no better than many others, so how is it Bribane pays HALF what they want in Perth ? surely by volume of people it would be less ? I think like all business here they believe everybody works in the mines and makes megs bucks so they just try it on you'd think they'd realize your going to get many quotes ??? No DO shop around people go for a big company and read/compare the policies,
    Cheers,

So far Youii has been the cheapest but we are not going to use them, RACV were the next best and we have been with them for the last 30 years and never had a problem.
We have claimed damages as well as a stolen car and also one that was written off and they have always been quick to pay and no problems.
But just yesterday our Toyata rep asked us if we wanted Toyota Insurance and from comparing the policies they seem to have a better product as well as being a bit cheaper.
Does anyone else have Toyota Insurance and have you been happy with it?
Have you made any claims - had any problems?
        All reviews greatly appreciated.

We have our prado insured with Toyota Insurance, when we first moved to ACT Prado caught in hail storm, Toyota Insurance suggested a few recommended repairers (all high end repairers in ACT) end result all repaired using paintless repair(amasing results) and absolutely no problems with Toyota Insurance

Another good thing that Toyota insurance offer is genuine new parts for all repairs, plus they offered the longest new for old replacement that I could get quoted at the time. Price wise they were cheaper and tit for tat on the policy details compared to the other majors. My old man bent the door back on his 120 and Toyota insurance had no issue repairing/replacing the damage and were happy for him to choose his own repairer.

I must admit that I was skeptical when the dealer first spoke to me about it, but in the end (after two weeks trying to find a reason not to go with them) it was the best overall cover and the price was very competitive (dropped my insurer of 18 years).

            Richo.

Sorry to hear that Richo. I had the opposite experience with them .My wifes car was rammed from behind while stopped at a childrens crossing in front of a school no less. The boys were in the back and of all things guess what ran into us. A prado!. (not from pradopoint i might add) . It was a big mess.
Racq turned it around very fast and as it was very close to a total write off gave us an option of the settlement, so we could put that money to anopther car, instead if fixing, waiting for a car, then having to sell etc.
They bent over backwards for us. Guess it just depnds on who you get at RACQ etc.
            Cheers

When we bought the last Prado the dealer mentioned Toyota insurance, when they asked who we were currently with (Elders Insurance) they said they wouldn't even bother quoting us they couldn't compete with Elders.

              Cheers Andrew
