Gday,

Anyone managed to find the wire between the Toyota sat nav / DVD screen and handbrake?

Would love for it to work whilst driving so the wife can watch the movies too.

Not sure about other states, but in Queensland it's illegal to have a video screen visible to the driver . Just so you know.

It's possible that the player takes position and speed info from the satnav too, which will also disable the DVD player.

I think try putting the handbrake on just enough to make it work then move, you dont have to go very fast before it blanks out again. Makes me thing it is speed reliant too as per above post.

Pretty sure I saw a thread about how to hack the sat nav/DVD. It wasn't a nice solution, but there is a mod kit. I believe it involved a switch to allow data entry/DVD play back while on the move, but this meant other features didn't work, & required a switch back. (sorry for the vagueness... Am on holidays, & only have iPhone Internet access).

It's ILLEGAL In NSW, for obvious reasons.

I would think that if you had an accident & your Insurance Company was to find your modification, your claim may be declined.

Ask your Insurer for their attitude on this matter.

If it's approved, get it in WRITING.
