Corkster, Just on your comment about the servicing is about the same due to capped price servicing, is that only for 6 services? As if you keep the car for a long time, the diesel servicing repairs could get very costly out of the capped price range - you might want to take that into consideration as well.

I think both motors are great and suit specific needs/preferences. Drive them and buy the one you like you can't go wrong.2010 Kakadu with all the usual stuff.... Build up thread below

I'm in the same boat, looking for a 150 and have text driven both. The missus and I have settled on a petrol, it's quieter, has more acceleration and is smoother. If I was towing a 20ft caravan around the Simpson desert if be buying a diesel, but I'm not, let's be honest 99% of a 4wd's life is spent on city streets. Fuel use doesn't bother me, as I'm coming from a 6 litre Holden, and to be honest diesel repair costs frighten me. But, each has its advantages, it really comes down to test driving them back to back, and you'll know straight away which is best for you.2011 Upgrade V6 GXL Graphite, Optima Yellowtop/Redarc Dual Battery setup, Dobinsons/Bilsteins 2inch Lift, Rhino Pioneer SXB Tray, Foxwing Awning/Tagalong

Morning. I just drove the diesel again and must admit it is pretty good, accelerates better than the Pajero and quieter. But the wife has said petrol, End Of Story. So that question is answered. Rather than add to this post, I will ask the beach/rust question in a new post. I have just read some disturbing things. Thanks for all the replies, real world experience is what counts more than advertising. Cheers

But there is no way I would get a hot hatch with a diesel.Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier
