Does any know how much range or fuel is left after the range indicator equals zero?
Is there a built in reserve in this range indicator?
Prado 150 diesel.
My testing indicates about 15litres left when it say range is zero. Each gauge might be a bit different though. When you next get to range 0 fill it up an see how much she takes. Its a 150 lt tank so easy to work out.

filled up today with 10km past "0" and fitted 132 ltr, 142 is the most I have ever put in.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.
I would not push it past zero all the time, maybe, just maybe, could be a bit of crap in the bottom of the tank. Hopefully the filters will remove it before it gets through. More likely to be crap in the fuel in outback fuel stations.

Thats about right from what I have experienced.

Get to empty and drain your tank. did this in my old tray back cruiser. to see how much fuel was left. Surprised how much gunk came out too. So I tried to do it every year or so as it was an old girl and used jerry cans often as well. The good thing with the cruiser you could switch to one or the other tank. So drain one go to servo and fill up then next week drain the other.
Hi guys, have just clocked over circa 1100 kays on first tank (it wasn't quite full from the dealer)
Was really keen to push how much diesel I could fit in.
I got 143.75 litres in.
Gauge was passed empty and 0km range for 80 kays.
Cheers

I have found pretty much exactly the same, but be careful not to chance your luck too much, because if you are going over rough ground you may end up sucking air, and crap from the tank, so I try and refuel once the fuel light comes on (which is quite a bit above when the gauge shows empty).. the most I have used to fill a tank was just on 145 litres, and that was Cloncurry and I was running well below empty for some time, more than I was comfortable to do, and felt like I was about to run out any time, so there is around the 20-25 litres left in the tank once the light comes on, and maybe around 10-15 litres once the gauage shows empty I guess. Does anyone know if its easy to drain the fuel tank...is there a tank bung? It would be good to know in case someone (like me in a studpid daze) puts unleaded in the tank by mistake....(Which I have done in error in a different work vehicle and realised only when I hung the nozzle back up....thank goodness I didn't drive it on unleaded at least.)
