  • Where to get my 150 D4D serviced (6 month service) in Sydney

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to get my 150 series D4D Altitude serviced shortly, i live in the Inner West and work in the South West of Sydney - is there a reputable mechanic/dealership that someone could recommend for the 6 month service?

I took it back to the place I bought it for the 1000km service but their service was poor and they didn't rectify one of the issues I had.

I'm happy to pay a little bit more for a reputable and honest workshop that does everything that's supposed to be done.

Apologies for the noob questions, this is the first new car that I've bought but can I take it to someone like ARB to get it serviced whilst not losing warranty?

    Thanks,
    Sam

I used Truscotts Toyota in Five Dock when I lived there. They were fine. You can take it to any qualified mechanic and it will not void your warranty, but you have to ask yourself if you would really want them working on the vehicle. Somewhere like ARB that knows the vehicle well would be fine too, but you will pay more for it, because their time could be better spent installing accessories to 4x4s.

Doesn't Toyota have the fixed price servicing for the first 3 years? You will struggle to find better pricing than what they offer...

Thanks for the replies. The problem with fixed price servicing is that many of the dealers would probably take shortcuts because margins and profit are going to be low - I read some threads on here about filters not being changed when they were noted on a service and my suspicion is that fixed price servicing is adding to the list of reasons unscrupulous mechanics use to rip people off so i'd happily pay a little extra to ensure the mechanic didn't feel like they were losing money and needed to cut corners.

Thanks for the link to the sticky, i used the search function and couldn't find much before posting (but wouldn't proclaim to be any sort of internet expert!).
