  • Cutting an extra key

    Hi,

Does anyone know of a cheaper way than going to a dealer to get a second key done for the Prado 150? I got quoted over $600

    Cheers,

    Han.

I thought you just pressed "start" as long as you had the transponder close by.

I paid about $450 trade for a new remote, it was another $45 or so to have Toyota code it and then luckily our friendly locksmith owed me a favour and cut the small key in the remote for free. So if the $600 is all including cutting, programming and Gst, it's unfortunately about right. I haven't heard of anyone having a non genuine alternative. I looked at as a better investment than spending the $2500 + if I lost the only key that I had..

        Hope this helps
