  • Occasional Vibration

    Hi Guys,

My diesel 150 series sometimes has quite bad vibrations in the steering wheel/shifter/bull bar at 80-100kph. It does not happen all the time though, and it does not seem to happen at a specific speed.

I was thinking it could be wheels out of balance or alignment at first, but I am baffled by the fact it does not happen all the time... any ideas?

Mick, I had a 70 series tray back in 1987 that had a similar disease. It turned out to be a broken engine mount. This ended up causing the tail shaft to fail, crack the bell housing and rip up the floor in cab. Take it to a dealer for a complete check. Be safe not very very sorry and broke if you out of warranty. Cheers Rick
Had a 2006 GXL, liked it so much bought a 2008 GXL. Liked the 150 so I bought a black 2010 GXL. Liked them even more and bought 12/2012 GXL. Must like Prado

I had a similar issue with a previous car. Was about to book it in for an alignment when I thought I will check out the inner tires first. Turned out the inner rims had a lot of mud still stuck to them from about two months and a few washes before. Once the mud was cleaned off it was good as new.
