Good to see that they have finally updated the guards to stop the cracking issue. Strangely I saw a few of the new model with the old style guards and some with the new stronger guards.

It does look the same but did you notice they say it's for the GX and GXL and a VX/Kakadu version will be available soon? I have a suspicion that they've just made a cut into the bar itself to accomodate the lower part of the grille. Given the GX and GXL only have a single globe in the DRL part of the light perhaps ARB figured they could cover the rest up?Originally posted by rwo View PostIs it just me, or does this look exactly the same as the "old" 150 bar? From the photo, it appears they have done absolutely nothing to address the aesthetics of the extended grill or the presence of the DRL's.
Also did anyone else notice something wrong with that pic on the FB page? I'm not going to make it too easy but have a look and see if you can spot something out of place.

ARB bar photo released on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...2056738&type=1) for facelift 150.

Interested to see one in person, the fitting instructions probably call for a "bumper cut" across the bottom of the grille!
At least it finally comes with LED indicators that can be retrofitted to the old bars....

Big mosquitoes up north, the bar deflects most of them caught in the wind tunnel effect......Originally posted by juc33_prado View Poston a side topic of that picture, what does the bar across the bottom of the windscreen protect...?

I remember it is a feature on my VX that you can't turn off..once the car started, the DRL is on, no matter you put the light in "on,off, or auto", quite annoying sometime because when I'm waiting in the carpark, I do want to keep the engine running and turn off all lights in the dark...Originally posted by jct0518 View Postcould you guys please confirm if your vehicle has the LED DRL on at all times. If this is the case could the setting be changed by the dealer??
I don't think it's something dealer could easily change, at least in Australia...they could only change features list on your manual..

Hello guys, I just picked up my new 2014 prado VXL (kakadu in your market)....i find it strange that the LED "DRL" only turn on when the lights of the vehicle are turned on...I believe they are DRL so they should be on at all times? could you guys please confirm if your vehicle has the LED DRL on at all times. If this is the case could the setting be changed by the dealer??

I think you should be ok. I ordered mine in July for an August build. I was later told all new vehicles after August build would be update version so given a sept build plate for yours it is unlikely ones built in the first 4 days of sept would be old and mine on the 5th was update. Any date later should be update too

Thanks Ian and David,
Ian: I am hoping given the build date of your vehicle is the same is mine that I should expect it is the current console.
David: I read exactly the same article which is why I was not entirely sure which console to expect. I only ordered the car on Friday last week. In hindsight I should have done a lot more research
Thanks for your responses. I guess I will find out tomorrow either way

Hem,
When I bought mine in Jan 2013 the current model 150's at that time were mostly labelled 'facelift' or 'update' on Carsales, meaning the October 2011 update (which incorporated a handful of features as standard on the VX and Kakadu which were either not included previously or were part of an option pack). Following a quick Google search of articles relating to the latest '2014 facelift' these articles started appearing in August 2013, with at least one stating the facelifted version would be available 'from October 2013'. This seems to make it a close call as to which yours is from the info you have provided, though Ian's info above is encouraging! It would seem to be pretty unscrupulous of the dealer to quote 'uplifted' to you in 2014 (3-4 months after the latest facelift) if it were indeed the 2011 'uplift'! When did you place the order?
Cheers,
David.
