which dealer did you go through on the sunny coast?Originally posted by Sprocketz View PostPick up my new VX crystal pearl before the weekend. Asked TJM about a bar and they have a new Prado that they are working on to make the adjustments. They reckon early next year. Snorkel is the same and tow bar is also all good. 75K drive away. Didn't give the ming mole any joy I said if something happens to the paint I'll be knocking on your door. My only purchase will be the rubber toyota mats they're a good buy.
The extra fruit on a Kak not worth the extra 14K. The main difference I could see was the suspension, rear diff lock, blindspot, radar cruise, sunroof, and memory seats, and multi mode 4wd.. everything else is the same.Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Seems an odd move, even super cheap cars have model badges. There was a shiny new Kakadu in the car park at work yesterday, it had a model badge. After seeing one in the flesh I still don't like the headlights and grille, the interior looks good though.Originally posted by Russell View PostNot having model badges seems to be the new approach, at least for GXL and VX. Can make it challenging!

I am not sure it is an option for the prado?Originally posted by fido666 View PostSeems an odd move, even super cheap cars have model badges. bmw have done this for years, it was/is an option, so that the uneducated onlooker doesn't know if you are driving the base 318 or the top range 335 etcMaroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Picked the new girl up today. drove about 20k then gave it to my wife. She's very happy … does anyone know if you can get the side mirrors to retract when locking the vehicle . My Lexus does it it an easy way to see if it's locked.Last edited by Sprocketz; 08-11-2013, 10:05 PM.

Saw the new model sitting next to the old one at the 4WD show.
Not sure that I would call it a facelift, more like a face drop. On a positive the new bull bar looks a lot better, just not on the car.
Good to see that they've replaced the grey plastic interior trim that scratched so easily, particularly on the gear knob. I prefer the overall look of the darker trim.
Not sure what the app button on the stereo does and the voice call button has disappeared from the steering wheel.
I'd be grabbing a run out old model based on what I saw.Steve

I am looking to buy a new facelift model Prado VX in Perth.
What price can I expect to pay after negotiations with the dealership?
No accessories, just the stock VX......I am trying to get a feel of where I should end up and how hard I should push them.
Any help you can give would be great, thanks guys hopefully I will be 4wd ing with you soon......

75-76K drive-away depending on state stamp duty etc. Sci fleet brisbane with Fleet was $75000 but I went local and it was a little more but it was easy with a the trade. Drive in throw the keys for the old beast and drove away with the new rig. Only took a week from deciding to driving. Seems to be lot's of stock especially of the VX . It's a very good spec level. The led low beams are brilliant and the Audio / phone/Nav unit is full of usefull features

I've had a 150 Kakadu for nearly 4 years now and was talking to my dealer about the towbars for my new facelifted Prado on order. I feel the genuine towbars hang too low compared with the 120 i had prior to my current Prado. He said that they are starting to fit more of the Hayman Reece towbars as they dont hang as low and are less in your face from the back. Has anyone fitted a new Hayman Reece and what's your thoughts?
