  • Steering lacks feel

I am a new member to Prado Point having only just stumbled upon it.

About two months back I got into a new 150 series VX out of a 95 series that served me very well for over a decade.

However, I find the steering on my new 150 VX lacks feel or feedback to the driver.

My old 95 series frankly was much nicer to drive as one could feel the road camber changes, a side wind shift and make the required adjustment well.............. automatically.

The steering on the VX is just dead.

Toyota tells me it is designed to be lighter for parking and increasingly heavy the faster one goes.

Well they are right, but the result is not that flash for a bloke who loves the driving experience.

    Anyone find it the same?

I know it is not a sports car but a bit of feedback would be nice.

    Hi,
I found the steering much lighter and lacking feel compared to my old 90 series, however after swapping the factory tyres for all terrains it has improved somewhat.

    Not sure if that helps.

    cheers

I grew up playing computer games without a force feedback controller. I was prepared to drive this car before i even had a licence. When i finally learned to drive, it felt strange to have feedback from the wheel.

I love the light touch. Certainly don't miss the old vc commodore.
