Some things are just surprising. I am onto my fourth Prado now and I am shocked, stunned and bewildered as to why Toyota would skimp. I just purchased my 2012 GXL three weeks ago and was shocked to see that the vehicle no longer comes with touch up paint and some of the tools. My 2010 GXL had theese bits. After thinking, I realised that how many vehicles/models are sold from Toyota and if they do this to every vehicle, that's some serious coin saved. Anyway managed to get a Kluger on loan with the same colour code and acquired its paint tin. Don't care about the tools cause I have Snapon anyway. So much for having your particular paint batch come with your individual car now. Cheers all, Rick

I picked up my 2012 GXL in October last year and it came with the paint tin. Yeah the cupboard with the tools was a bit bare, however the sales guy said they fill it up for the VX and Kakadu. Not sure about this reasoning but anyway, if that's the case so be it - I carry my own tools anyway.
What did they say when you asked them about the touch up paint??2012 D4D GXL Auto - Graphite with some TJM enhancement.

Reply to all three.
AMTS - Nope, all three were diesel, and until now all had full tool kits
Bendman - all my prados had paint until now. Kluger is one of our work cars.
The Alberto- dealer said Toyota were no longer providing paint tins. I thought that it may be some bludger knocked mine off but out of the five prados in there store yard including mine, none had paint tins.
I see that the new GXLs have the privacy glass whereas my 2010 GXL didn't. That maybe where the money has gone.Had a 2006 GXL, liked it so much bought a 2008 GXL. Liked the 150 so I bought a black 2010 GXL. Liked them even more and bought 12/2012 GXL. Must like Prado

That is deadset tight, you buy a car like this, from a company like Toyota - at the very least you would expect it to come with a tin of bloody touch up paint.
I suppose it will be an additional cost option from now on, and they'll act like they've done you a favour by throwing it in as part of the deal.2012 D4D GXL Auto - Graphite with some TJM enhancement.

I was looking at the tool kit the other day (for the first time) and saw that my tool kit had a number of empty slits. Can someone post a picture showing what a complete kit looks like?

I think from first look its the slip joint pliers and one if the open ended spammers.
I remember when the last 120 series GXL released, they had the privacy glass and the 150 was released not long after. Maybe saving money with cutaway stuff so to afford the new release. 90, 120, 150, so that would make it a 180 series.
