When mounting a roof basket I dropped a washer from the roof bar kit. After much looking I think the only place it could be is under the roof rail rear mount. There is a thin gap between the seal and the rail mount rubber strip. Tried to get it out with a strong magnet but no go. Should I leave it inside? I am concerned it might rust and impact the car body. how can I get access to the underside of the roof rail mount?

That's quite an effort to get a washer in there. I'd want to get that washer out. Water and dirt get into that channel. Note sure whether rusting will be an issue, but i wouldn't want to chance it. If you're absolutely sure the washer can't be anywhere else but in that channel, i reckon pull the rails off. It didn't take me long to get mine off. There's a few guides on the forum that will explain how to do this.
Good luck with that one.

Thanks Mike. I looked everywhere on, under, around the car. There is a washer size gap where the rail mount meets the channel. Although it would be easy to slide a washer in there it would be almost impossible to replicate what happened. I will look for posts on roof rail removal. What a nuisance!Prado GXL 2012 Charcoal - Drifta Drawers, Cargo Barrier, Sidewinder Dual Battery kit, Ironman Bar, Narva lights, Safari Snorkel, Airbags, TX3350 kit, Waeco CFX65DZ - often seen with Thule 2.2M narrow roof pod and towing 2014 Kimberley Kamper. Not sure on a 150 but on a 120, the rubber strips in the gutter comes off easily. Each end slips under the roof rail mount so you'll need a screwdriver or flat implement to lift the strip at the middle. Hopefully you can see the washer before having to pull the roof rails off.

Thanks. I will give it a shot at the weekend. The chances of a washer bouncing on the roof and sliding into this tiny slit are about the same as my wife letting me buy a bulbar. I might take her for drive in the country one evening so she can see how grey kangas also desire being hit and slid under the roof rail with the washer. At least that's my interpretation of why they always seem to jump in front of the car instead of get out of the way.Prado GXL 2012 Charcoal - Drifta Drawers, Cargo Barrier, Sidewinder Dual Battery kit, Ironman Bar, Narva lights, Safari Snorkel, Airbags, TX3350 kit, Waeco CFX65DZ - often seen with Thule 2.2M narrow roof pod and towing 2014 Kimberley Kamper. The answer was simple. Thanks amts. I pulled out the rubber rail insert and bingo, a washer. I am amazed that none of this roof rail area is sealed. I guess it is designed or water to in out. The gunk in there after only 3 weeks was more than I expected. Something to think about cleaning out I suspect. When I was fitting the NS rails on the 120 prior to sale I was amazed at how much dirt an detritus was under the trim up on the roof. I ended up removing all the trim and cleaning the roof join before fitting it all back together again. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
