]I've finally fabricated an ally bracket to fit in the engine bay of my 150. It sits just behind the air box and yes I have made it to fit the twin head ARB compressor model CKMTA12. Anybody interested I'll post some pics shortly. Depending on interest etc I could get pricing etc and have bulk brackets fabricated. Happy if anyone else wants to take on the project also.

How the hell did you get it to fit behind the airbox? I guess that area for a lot of us is compromised by the fitment of a catch can.Originally posted by Rego.01 View PostI've finally fabricated an ally bracket to fit in the engine bay of my 150. I've posted that I put mine in front of the airbox though if you have a battery in this position that is out too.

Be really interested in photos....My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Hey people, have updated original post and added some photos for you to look at. It still needs a few measurement alterations and powdercoating etc, but pretty good first attempt i thought given the space and the fact i know nothing about autocad!! I have now plumbed a line to the air tank at the rear of the car (small ARB tank) with an australian standard stainles steel outlet next to the anderson plug. Once i am happy with it all I will post some more pics. Hope you all like it!!2012 Graphite Kakadu, bush pin striping, BFG's and everything you can think of !!!

That's impressive. Do you have anything to dampen vibration between the mount and compressor on the bottom? My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

No I haven't MJ but I can't see why I can't put some rubber matting or rubber mounting blocks for this...Originally posted by mjrandom View PostThat's impressive. Do you have anything to dampen vibration between the mount and compressor on the bottom?
Thought this was a better option on this bracket rather than the original idea I came up with above the fuse box.2012 Graphite Kakadu, bush pin striping, BFG's and everything you can think of !!!

Given the bracket is aluminium you might want to bolt some waffle pad there to dampen things. Mine doesn't vibrate that badly but aluminium is prone to fatigue cracking. Just a thought. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

Not in my experience with the single CKMA12. The compressor itself gets very hot when operating anyway. So hot in fact that you need to use the chrome collar to release the hose when finished otherwise you will burn your fingers.White 2012 GXL 150 TD Auto. Work in progress. Aiming to spend less than when I kitted out the 120!

Wazafi my compresor is sitting there as per page 1 of this or my build thread and after a fair run the compressor is not too hot to touch. I wouldn't expect there to be a problem. I assume you are fitting it to a 150?

This page shows the plates and rubber blocks I used to bolt the compressor in place. All you need are two flat plates, I used 4mm mild steel and the blocks. The threasds on the blocks get cut off just above the nuts so the pics are before I finalised the set up. Plates were 220 x 180 if you are interested, top and bottom plate the same size and sit vertically in line. By the way I settled on 4mm but if you can get your hands on some 3mm stainless that would be ideal.

Put it on the left side it fits in there well that where I fitted mine you just need some rubber mounts.Originally posted by wazafi View PostHi All
I thinking of installing my Air Compressor at the front right corner..... where normally the 2nd battery is installed.
But concerned with the bonnet temperature when engine is running. Will it damaged the compressor?
Also you can still fit a second battery if you want on day.150 Prado D4D GXL Blue Storm, T13 TJM Bar, 265/70/17 Goodyear MTR Kevlar, Tigers11 1200 pound 2 speed Winch, Fox Shocks remote resevor, Air tec Snorkel, ARB Air Lockers Front and Back, Off Road Systems Draws with Drop Down Fridge Slide, Wetsuit seatcovers.

Hi Michael
Yes, I am planning to put in my 150.
But mine is single cylinder compressor, those portable type with the handle (72LPM). Not sure if that should be installed in there coz of the rubber handle.
Only reason of putting in there because the box can be quite bulky and don't want to lug it in and out of the boot everytime I need to use all the 7 seats.
Just want to utilize the space for the spare battery.
Did you wire it up to the battery as well? Or just leave the connection off until you need it?
