Hi All,
Just replaced the air con filter in my 150 mine spec GX - I think it had half the Pilbara in it, even though the previous filter was dated 2012.
Never the less, it explained my weak fan strength and the pong when turning on the A/C. I cleaned out as much gunk as I could and blew air through the vents and fan - sprayed Glen 20 into the intake fan and on the new filter.
However, after half a day the "Pilbara Smell" has returned (only faint though). I did read on a 120 Series post it took a guy a couple of weeks to get rid of the dusty smell in his air con - have also read about Wynns Airco-Fresh http://wynns-otobakim.com/product/airco-fresh/58.aspx
Spray AIRCO FRESH in the fresh-air inlet (which can normally be found in the engine compartment at the passenger’s side) - where exactly is the fresh air inlet for the 150 diesel? I couldn't locate it easily... I found a black duct going into the vicinity, but it looks like I will need to pop it off further down the line (if it is indeed what I am looking for....)
Can anyone provide a picture?
EDIT: I probably should also ask while I am here - the 120 series had a plastic frame the filter sat in. My 150 didnt have this - It seems a different filter. Can anyone else confirm they also do NOT have a plastic frame.
Cheers,
Kevin
