  • Servicing schedule...Log book stolen.

    Hi all

I had my Service Log Book stolen out of the glovebox of my 150 GX 1KD a few weeks back. Given I now dont have a service history, I am going to start service my Prado myself. Can anyone advise where I can get a detailed and complete list of what is required to be inspected and replaced at each service. Carservice.com.au provide some details, but I am not sure I trust them.

Also, can anyone tell me what is the story re replacing the fuel filters in the diesels - I understand there may be two fiters (one in the engine bay and one above the fuel tank in the rear). Is this correct, and if so when do they need replacing? I have read that

Ps. Car is due for 100k service.

    Thanks in advance all.

    Cheers

Where ever you get your car serviced should have your history on their computer, and surely Toyota would be able to get you another service book.
I'll let our resident mechanics answer the rest of your questions.

    Cheers

As I posted elsewhere tonight, try Haynes Manuals. Sell owners manuals and service manuals for cars, boat motors, bikes: and the lady told me that a lot of her sales are because thieving pricks are stealing service manuals from cars during service.

Might sound like a dumb question but of what interest is some one else's log books to another vehicle or person ?? I do keep mine in the wardrobe for both cars but this is mainly if any prick breaks in they don't have my address (if vehicle not at home, locked and garaged anyway at home) and also they don't just use it for fuel to start a fire in my cars.....my god there is some low life shit out there like the total scum bags that went around our area on Saturday night and broke about 12 car rear windscreens, Thought our area was pretty good, makes me think twice........Cheers steve

I presume they want the log books for rebirthing of stolen/crashed vehicles.

Has anyone tried the servicing CD manuals sold on ebay for 150 series?

When I purchased my GX it didn't have a log book or manual. I took it to the dealership that had been servicing it and they provided me with a replacement and also stamped the service history. Manual cost me $50 odd however they didn't charge me for the service book. Give that a try.
