  • GX seating uncomfortable

Just got myself a new 150 GX and am having a lot of trouble being comfortable driving it. To the point that I am sometimes choosing not to and driving my old falcon instead.

For me, the steering wheel doesn't extend far enough toward me so I either need to stretch my arms or cramp my legs. This I am just going to have to get used to. The bigger issue is lack of support for my thighs, the front edge of the seat is too low which results in me suspending my right leg off the pedal which is very fatiguing. The more I raise the seat the more exaggerated the front lean becomes.

Can anyone tell me if the up spec models have seperate adjustment for the front and rear heights of the drivers seat? I want my bum down and thigh up.

Can anyone with a 150 confirm if the front and rear of the drivers seat lifts uniformly? Or if the upper model Prado's have separate front/rear height adjustment?

My 2013 GXL has a lever which pumps the front of the seat up while leaving the base where your ass is down low... I presume this is what your talking about, Also has the electronic button which pushes the lumbar out.

Picking up mine tomorrow, (only a 2010 GX) driving back from Mel to Sydney!

Will let you know ho that feels after 9 hours (and a massive hangover after a Freo dockers win)...

        cheers

Ah ok, I might go to toyota tomorrow and have a look then. I've only got one height adjustment lever, but it seems to lift the bum bit more than the front.

only one height adjustment and it does lift the back more than the front. Quite comfortable for me but I do have it fully down as I am above average height. Just found the electric lumbar, I forgot that was there. I find the Prado GX so comfortable we have gone over 14 hours straight and still not disabled and I stepped out of a Falcon as well. Anyone will tell you that the Falcon has the worst seating of any vehicle on the road so maybe you have done too many K's in it and wrecked your posture.

Not as comfortable as my Calais but still very good. I definately noticed the difference. While the calais you sit back into almost wedged in. The GX you sit square on top and it did feel a little funny at first. I went for an adjustment to tilt it back a bit but no adjustment was available. Now I'm use to
It and its just the raised side cusion that annoys me. You need a step ladder to get over it without crushing it every day.

              Cheers

Funny how we are all different. I cannot sleep in the passenger seat of my husband's Kluger - and its the 2nd top of the range with leather seats. Hate travelling in that car. Of course the only seat I am comfortable enough to want to snooze is the drivers seat...

With the GX Prado I find the seat really comfortable. I am only 164 cm but I drive with relatively straight arms. Mind you I have many years of defensive driving and stuck in cars for shifts.
