  • Brand New!

    Hey guys, Had my 150 Series VX for just over a week now and absolutely loving it!

    I arranged to have the following bolted on prior to dealer delivery;
    - OME 2 inch lift
    - Hayman Reese tow bar
    - GME TX3540 CB
    - ARB Aluminium Full Length Roof Rack
    - ARB Deluxe Bull Bar

    I was hoping to get some advice on the following;

    a) I am wanting to mount a 20 to 40 inch LED light bar on the front of the roof rack, and 2 smaller work lights at the rear. What technique is used to run cable from the car up to the rack? I believe a wire can be run from the rear door/boot? Any insight would be brilliant. What sort of plugs should be used to facilitate me taking off the rack once I get some bigger boots for the car (noting that it won't fit in my work car park!)

    b) Giving consideration to the above, thought I would mount 2x pencil beams on the front, given that the spread will be achieved from the light bar.

    Any tips and hints would be much appreciated. Looking forward to hitting the beaten track!

        No pics yet (as I haven't done it), but I intend to run wire for roof lights up the Passenger side A pillar with the wire tucked in between the windscreen glass and the trim strip. With black wire and and a bit of clear silicon, I wouldn't be very noticeable at all.

        I would prefer to do it this way over running to the rear, as I have already mounted a relay for the lights in the rear passenger side of the engine bay and don't want to run cable from here, to back of the car and back to the front of the rack due to voltage drop and excess unneeded cable.

        I am a fan of Deutsch plugs (search on ebay for a DT2 plug/socket as these are the 2 wire version) and will use these to disconnect the wire.
