  • Which Toyota dealer to use for service - Adelaide

    Hi people

Great forum, I have been reading for months, and the information was very valuable in the lead up to the purchase of my 150 GLX manual. I am due for a service, and will be requesting that all the common problems detailed on this forum be fixed under warranty. 1500 rpm rattle, flat spot, mudflats etc etc.

Have any Adelaideians had good experiences with the local dealers for things like the ecu upgrades, and if so, which dealers?

    Thanks

Can't respond regarding ECU upgrades etc, but always had good service at Peter Kiddle on Main North Rd, Para Hills West.

If you bought it from a Toyota dealer, why not take it there for service?

bought my new Altitude diesel auto from Cmi Cheltenham in March 2012. Put the word on them to replace tail shaft & do ecu upgrades during services and have had no arguments. Happy with them so far. Bit of a production line though. When out of warranty will try & find a small operator with more personal service

I've had 2 dealings with Peter Kittle, once a service in Alice Springs, also bought our Rav from their Main North rd branch. They will never ever get another cent of my hard earned. Both are long stories but needless to say I got shafted, both times.

Bought both my Prados from CMI in the city and have nothing but good things to say about them, but can't comment on their service dept.

        Cheers Andrew

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is that I bought the car from a country dealer. Had a good experience with the purchase but was hoping to find something closer to home for servicing.

          Cheers.

Anyone used Cmi or Cornes for servicing.

I bought mine from Peter Kittles, but will be going to CMI in the city for servicing as it is more convenient.
We get our work cars serviced through CMI, and one of the other guys who has a 76 series gets his done there as well. Plenty replaced under warranty, always without hassles or questions.

Have heard some ordinary stories about Cornes, so probably wont take it there even though it is actually closer to work.

Having said that, Kittles, Cornes, and CMI/CMV are all customers at work, so it doesn't matter which one I take it to I'll know someone there and be able to make sure that it is looked after.

                  Haha!

It's been a few years now so I'm sure things have changed, but CMI's service department was the reason I haven't bought a Toyota there for many years.

Kittle was simply hands down the best deal when I bought the Prado.

Interesting how some people get good results and others bad from the same dealer...

                    CMI for me.

Even though I had concerns about the towbar recall they did sort it and had the parts required...

Yes it is interesting the different experiences people have with the same companies, and yes its been a few years now so things may well have changed.

Not sure how it helps people looking for advice when 2 people have such polar experiences, but life would be boring if everyone experienced the same thing!

                      Cheers Andrew

Ok, so it seems like mixed responses depending on individual experiences. Thanks for the feedback.
