GX 2nd row seats

I have a 2013 five seat GX, and having a problem with some 2nd row seat covers. The supplier has sent me two sets now that don't fit properly, despite insisting that they've been and measured them up.

I'm wondering if when you specify the seven seat option on the GX they fit the sliding 2nd row seats from the GXL, instead of the fold forward version. The supplier may be measuring off a seven seater, which are probably more common.

Could anyone comment on this?

Just answered my own question...

The answer is yes - the seven seat GX has the same 2nd row seats as the GXL, but the five seat version has different seats.

Might be worthwhile info for anyone with a five seater.

Good catch, looking at getting covers for myself for Christmas.
I wouldn't have bothered to check that one.
BTW what cover did you get ??

I've got the Supertrim neoprene covers. Fronts fit really well, and are working a treat.

Rears fit the seat base and backrests OK, but the holes for the headrests don't line up with the ones on the seats. I know with neoprene there is some stretching to adjust but these are 30-40mm out of alignment.

One other minor annoyance (but not a show stoppper) is that the velcro strip that attaches to the cloth cover on the rear of the seats gets in the way of the catch that holds the seats upright.

Supertrim have been very good with this issue BTW, so I don't have any issue with them.

I recently got some GXL covers for my 5 seat GX and had the same problems. I had to cut a hole in the seat cover at the rear when the catch goes in to the side of the body on both sides. Just sewed around the oversize hole so it didn't fray.

Also the centre seat back rest / flip down drinks holder seems to be wider in the GX 5 seat, and the GXL covers don't slip over it - or they are so tight that it pulls the stitching. The centre head rest also seems to be a different shape and the GXL cover is too small. Planning on sewing a strip in the back of them to widen it out.

Headrest holes were OK. Rear seat base was OK. Child seat restraints also matched.

I have a 5 seater GX. I got the genuine toyota front & 2nd row seat covers and they fit perfect.
Keep in mind the front seat covers have to be airbag compatible as the side airbags deploy from out of the seat.
