A couple of days ago whilst driving in hot conditions (ambient air ~38 degrees C) with the front AC initially in auto mode (AC was delivering air through face vents only as expected), I found I was unable to configure the system to deliver air through both face and feet vents by pressing the air outlet selector button as one can usually do. Pressing the button simply did nothing. If I turned the temperature up so high that the system began to want to heat it automatically selected both face and feet vents as per normal. I turned the system off then back on again - no change. I then stopped and cycled the ignition off for about 30 secs before re-starting - no change. So I kept driving and about half an hour later after pulling up in the shade found that the system worked normally again! So my question is does the button have an intermittent fault or does the system deliberately force the use of the face vents only when the difference between ambient and target inside temp is sufficiently high, or when sun strength from the sensor on the dash is sufficiently high? Has anyone else experienced this?
Cheers,
David.
