Hi guys, long time stalker, first time poster.
I have experienced and started researching the back door dust issue on the 150 series. As is documented on this site, it is a problem when you crack the door open and dirt falls all over you fridge and yourself.
I have found plenty of complaints about the issue however I have not yet found any solutions....yet. And to be totally honest, I don't expect toyota to so anything about it.
So from other experiences, is it worse when you are in clean air or following someone else? If it is due to driving in dirty air then there is a simple solution however I suspect it is being sucked back up by my own vehicle. So next question, it is coming back over the top of the windscreen wiper module or is it being pushed up each side of the door and when the opposing air clashes it drops the dust right there?
I have a full length roof cage and I am considering making a small deflector of some sort to try and combat the problem. I have only experienced it a hand full of times. When it comes time to do a trip, I think this problem would drive me insane.
Has anyone given this a try? Any tips or pointers? It will be a trial and error project and only possible now I have the cage on as there is no chance I would be doing any drilling, riveting screwing etc into the roof of the car.
