I don't know how many others have noticed this, but I was astounded to find the sub-floor in the cargo area of my new, 2014 Prado GX is actually made of Polystyrene! (Glad I checked before I threw the tools in!!)

I have removed the rear carpet, and the Polystyrene "pad" and reconstructed the base of the rear floor from layers of Plywood, with cutaways to miss the lumps bumps and wiring under there.
Noise deadening matting went under the ply, then a foam layer before a sheet of automotive carpet from Bunnings to make it look, more or less, like standard.

I can now place my toolboxes in the back without fear of them crushing the floor material.

.....Oh, and I also fitted some running boards. Looks better!

Wired up my dual battery, happy it worked first go. Also had the complimentary 1000km inspection and had the power windows programmed to open with the remote.

Not mine, but I took the boss's brand spanker for a run. Wallows like a dead duck in the water. Definitely needs stiffer springs. But it goes and picks up quicker than my 120. Nice shiny alloy bulbar will need to get some scratches onto that. Oh, and those grandcraps. The sooner they go the better. And no controls on the steering wheel? And that reversing camera is useless in the sunlight. The old one was battered, tail-lights flopping around, bumper skins hanging in the breeze.

What do you mean by your power windows programmed to open with the remote?

You can get the remote re programmed by Toyota.

When you hold the unlock button down, the windows lower until you release the unlock button. Same for the lock button, hold it down and the windows raise until you release the lock button.

Dont know why this isnt done by default, as it is very handy.

I fitted my front recovery points today, it was not fun initially but worked it out eventually.

Ordered my Opposite Lock bullbar and ran wires for the rear camper power (6 B&S), complete trailer brake harness from rear to front, driving light harness, UHF cable and dual battery wiring. As i will be mounting my aux battery (AGM) in the rear in a battery box, all my aux power will be sourced from there.

Now all i have to do is connect all the bits and pieces after the bullbar gets fitted.

                      Pics to come.

                      cheers

Sorry for the late reply I drilled out the bulbar bracket because it made the hole to tight, and when using the nut on the wire make sure you hold your tongue out and to the left

Standard feature of the new 150 (not sure about the pre2014 models) but in GXL/GX the dealer can hook into the car computer and turn on two features, hold unlock and the car unlocks and windows start to power down, front first as a pair till about halfway then the rear follow. Hold lock and the the procedure works in revers, locks, the up come the windows in pairs. Great for cooling the car down before you get in or closing it up if its raining or you get out without winding them up.

In VX/Kakadu you can program this using the on screen menus.

Check the user manual for details, near the back I think.

                            Good to know!

I'll have to look at this when I get back home from Melbourne. I havent had much time to play around with the new car since I picked it up a week ago - and now I've been sent interstate again...
Though I did manage to get the roof rails fitted and the windows tinted before I had to head to the airport.

Ran my power cable from the engine down to the 220v socket. Just waiting for some sockets and lugs in the mail to connect it up.

Started running the cable for my rear work light. Did from the spare tyre holder, through the rear door into the rear rhs of the car. I'll finish running the wire to the second battery and start making the light holder bracket over the weekend.
This will complete the lights on the rear door.
I finished installing an LED bar on the inside top of the door yesterday.
