  • I got close with Mr. Skippy - well, I only knew him for a split second, but he left an impression.
The head clipped the bullbar upright pillar (which saved the front fender and light)
Swung him around and well, hit the back door... no major damage, but still will have to get some insurance involved to fix the 2 doors.
    - was at approx 40Km/h

"spot the impact zone" - I was hoping for a wash, but not in this manner

We have a guy who always drags a log in to camp. He'll disappear for a bit and roll in with a log tied to the back.

I didn't have a chainsaw with me today. Just cruising around the local state Park and didn't want to go back.

      • Plywood cut today for false floor, fridge box and slide today. Hopefully put it together and install over the weekend.

        • Initial test fit of fridge box/slide today after I put it all together. I'll take approx 50mm of the height of the box and probably 20mm off the front. Should come up okay though I think.

                  • (yesterday) Dropped my car off at ARB for 2" OME lift and a set of Ko2 in 265 70r17. I went "white in" on the tyres (car is silver). Hopefully my pioneer platform arrives for fitment before Friday!

Since replacing the tyres with slightly larger ones (65 to 70 profile), the speedo is now spot-on with my TomTom GPS.
I've heard people say that fuel consumption increases with tyre size. I can understand this for acceleration from a standing start, but wouldn't engine revs be lower at the top end resulting in a fuel saving as well ?

                      • It's more to do with the tyres being heavier and thus more energy required to keep them rolling. Also most people go for an LT construction tyre and sometimes more aggressive tread pattern. Compare the weight of a 265/70 KO2 against a Grandtrek.

True - but do they account for the difference in the odometer. It now reads lower for the same number of km.
