From where did you find this information? Did you tried in your prado? From best of my knowledge and information thats with aftermarket headunit not with factory n this module is for to bypass navigation system and to use mobile/ navigation n VIM. you need this module(its not just ground wire) for Toyota. For HSV you need another module . For Bmw you need another module n same as Audi. Rest i dont know what are you referring too. But if it works in your prado it's cheaper than what I paid. Cheers SK

    • Not what I did to my 150, but what someone else did. Some idiot tradie in a van, probably on the phone, ran straight into the back of my Prado whilst I was stopped in traffic. He got my towbar straight into his number plate, unbelievably, not even a scratch on the towbar and no damage anywhere. Van had a nudge bar but it missed my bumper and spare wheel carrier. Checked underneath, towbar mounts, checked the panels for alignment, no problems. Was a decent hit too, I think I must have just started to take my foot off the brake hence I rolled fwd. In any case, HR towbar and Toyota strength (and abit of luck) saved the day.

This is not correct at all, the navigation and other controls get locked out when your moving. I can fully control my unit when the car is stationary with the handbrake off, so earthing the handbrake will not work.

Starbuck is right. The system uses speed and gps input to lock off controls whilst moving. Doing a handbrake earth won't stop it working.

Where can I get hold of this "GOD input" you mention! is it like GOD mode in doom where it makes you invincible?

            lol

You can get it from Japan that "GOD mode" to unlock the controls. :-)

              • On an offload trip last year I had the mirrors folded to avoid damage when hitting bushes and branches on narrow tracks. However, the ends of the mirrors and door handles got so badly marked by bush strikes that I was resigned to having them repainted. The Glacier White paint on my 2016 Prado turned out to be more robust that I thought, the marks all polished out. Then, on the last trip I used Bear cloth tape from Bunnings to cover the ends of the mirrors and door handles and this stopped any damage. Have just finished doing the same for a trip later this month. Doesn't look beautiful but it does the job, sticks very well out on the track but peels off cleanly when I get home.

Main reason I brought and install it so i can use full mobile function like dialing/ contact search etc n also use navigation while driving(passenger use). Now i dont have to stop on side of the road to use mobile or navigation. These are on factory headunit kakadu. Rest all function are same as before. Brought it from Japan n cost me $200 with shipping. Installation was 10 minutes job clip clip n one wire earth done.
And the next thing will be wifi mirrorlink. So phone display come on factory screen. Waiting for parts. Cheers
This sounds really good.. It's a PITA when you're doing long highway trips like I do all the time, and having to stop to enter addresses or dial a number.

Has it worked out as good as it sounds Skprado?

Yes works like a charm. Very happy with it. Just a press of button than it locks the location n mobile/dvd/nagivation option comes alive n even car maintenance button. Depress it everything like factory. Than it just take mintune or so for navigation to come to actual location.

                        • Installed a Uniden UH9060 Today

Put the main unit under the drink holders, cut out one of the blank plates to put the handset connection. Tapped in to the 12v supply in the center console. Overall a very easy job. Hardest part was making a square hole in the blank plate.

I originally had the same setup however I moved the handset connection to one of the blanks near my left knee as I found any crumbs or sand that got in the car from the kids always found their way into the connection when there was no handset plugged in.

                              • Repaired my broken drivers side wing mirror. Bought a folding actuator on ebay for $80 from Germany. Bought a replacement indicator $40. Put it all back together and voila, spare mirror for $120 ready for the next time I bang it on the chimney!!
