Hi I am new to Pradopoint as well.Just wondering whether the In Dash Dvd player on the 2014 Kakkadu actually play videos from Dvds.

The 2014 VX went in for it's 20K service yesterday and it had a software update for the audio system. Since then the phone text to voice no longer works. It works in my GXL which is a week old . When the wife called Toyota they said oh it only works on three phone in the world and not the Iphone. Total BS as it was working the day before.
Anyone else had this issue ? You set I phone to send push notifications and when you get a text message you can play the text as audio. Pretty handy little feature.

Could you tell me a bit more how to set this up? As I tried to connect/set up message with T/link, but it never worked, I'm using iphone5 and have bluetooth linked atm. Cheers

All we did was enable push notifications in the bluetooth set-up of the iphone. You just select the info icon when connected to the audio unit and slide to activate. We did nothing with the Toyota unit. And she will speak rude words if you text them. Gave us a giggle

All fixed when the wife set-up the Bluetooth of Toyota updated the firmware she hadn't activated the push notifications.

Just gave it a go and it worked! reading a sms in english no problem, but not recognize other language..
it only read the message out loud but doesn't seems to give you an option to reply?

thanks for that description, that is exactly why my texts and emails weren't working on my 2014 GXL. I don't know why the iPhone 5 when set up with Bluetooth would not automatically have push notifications on. I had read in other places that the problem was because of IOS 7 but I am glad it was a simple thing.

I can't see push notifications anywhere in iOS7

The DRL's are separate globes to the headlights?

No they are the park and low beam lights on GXL - so no difference to headlight switch, on/off have the same effect. on VX/Kak they are LED, not sure if they double as parkers or not. But the headlights are off when the led DRLs are on which is a big difference to the GXL setup.

So in the GXL, does download destination do anything other than show a picture of a map? Am I missing something? Thought it may be able to use the phone to navigate, but obviously not.

It's meant for the models with sat nav, so you can select it and navigate using the inbuilt GPS. Obviosuly this is only available in the VX and Kak models, but the GPS upgrade option mentioned above should work with it as well.

Otherwise, yes it is a useless feature.
