  • Auto Trans. Fluid change

My 150 petrol auto is due for it's 80,000 km service next week.

Under an extended warranty service program from Windsor Toyota, this service will cost me $250- (until the Prado is 6 years old)

The auto trans. fluid is still original (service section receptionist stated it is a long life fluid for the life of the vehicle), however, asked her what the cost would be to change the fluid, as I tow a van at times.

She quoted me "$200-, as the auto box takes a lot of fluid."

How does that sound, and how does it sound if I should take it to a good auto trans. specialist? (any in or near the Sutherland Shire?)

    Dave.

Mine cost about that at 4WD Centre in Taren Point. Cronulla Sutherland Automatics in Flora St Kirrawee have a good rep. At 80000 my fluid was a bit dark, they said, and it had done virtually no towing. Transmission felt smoother after the change Neil
