Hey does anyone reckon I should buy another pair of maxxtraxxs now I've got a camper trailer in case I bog it on my next beach trip or do you only need one pair?

2 sets are handy, especially with a camper in sand, I have 2 sets

    Cheers Andrew

I would recommend two sets for the main vehicle even with out towing a trailer. One can never have enough recovery stuff when you are bogged.

Helped some guys on Fraser, 4wd and camper trying to get off the beach, they had 1pr and weren't getting very far, 2prs made the difference, but after a couple failed Fwd attempts, suggested they try reverse and popped straight out 1st go. Buried, with belly on the sand. Been thinking if (when more like) I go back up will get another set.

You could always register and come along to the GTG, there's three sets up for grabs thanks to Maxtrax!

                    Where do you stow them?

When I do sand trips, I put my lightweight Roofrack on.
The tracks take up space & are relatively light, so I choose to keep them on the roof rack.
Easy to get to if u need them.
If they are dirty it keeps them & the sand out.
Security is the only issue, but I see 4x4's everywhere these days loaded with goodies, & I don't hear of stuff getting stolen off especially camping.
So I guess the odds are ok.

On the roof rack. I use a couple of over centre catches and a bit of scrap galv flat bar to make some clamps so they are secure, really easy to get off in just a few seconds and the catches can be locked to deter the opportunist thief.

Those pics were with only one set, now I have 2 sets and its pretty much the same deal, just made the clamps longer.

                        Cheers Andrew

I use Master brand key locking cables around the roof racks (which are locked on) and cover the locking mechanism with a small plastic bag, to keep out water and dust.
