Yes, this is the way toyota have designed it, even back to my old 2010 corolla was like this. It only lets you use the 4 speed dials while moving or you passenger can get out you phone and dial from there and it'll come through the stereoSilver 150 Facelift

You can access your call history though, which is presented nearly the same way so thats a bit dumb, but I use Siri anyway so the Toyota interface isn't necessary. Just hold the home button on you iPhone and say, "call the office" or "call my wife", I also have siri read my messages to me while driving and I respond via Siri. The inbuilt car microphone is clear enough for it to work 100%.-=2014 GXL D4D Auto Graphite, Firestone Airbags, ARB/Optima D34 Dual Battery, ARB UVP, TJM Airtech Snorkel=-

Hi Esq,Originally posted by Esquire View PostYes. Mine do too. I'm assuming it's so you don't use the phone while your driving. A bit of a pain as my passenger can't even dial etc until the car stops.
Your passenger can still dial from the actual phone and it will come through via the audio system. As Symo also mentioned, you can press the dial button on the steering wheel and your recent call history will come up on the screen. You can then touch these contacts to dial as well. You also have the 4 contacts you can enter in on the home screen. hope that helps!2014 150 GXL TD Auto graphite. CouplerTec, Rhino rack, maxtrax but still a work in progress...
