CB Radio, what have you got and where did you mount it?

Thats similar to what I want to do with my 120.
I know amts is testing a prototype blank for doing that as well.

Since i couldn't find any suitable ready made adaptors for this, I also did drill through one of the blanks. Will post the final result once everything is done since some touch up is required and the actual installation to the center console is pending too.

Now, I am short of one blank switch and need to figure out where I can get one.

Hi Gogetter,

I am looking for an option to install the UHF radio socket input in the centre console and I am unable to find out where I can get the socket to install in the centre console.

I got a Kakadu and I don't have a spare spot to fix it, which is a different issue altogether (have a separate thread on this http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...x-Prado-Kakadu)

If you don't mind, can you please let me know where you got that socket that you fixed in the centre console for UHF radio input. I am trying to find a suitable fitting for this but unable to.

Any help/suggestions will be greatly helpful for me.

Hi Kams, i was unable to find a socket for the UHF, I ended up taking it to some installers who made it for me.

Thanks for the response Gogetter.

I was unable to find any, So i made the socket myself using one of the blank and a RJ45 pass through connector. Attached are the pictures of the socket (work in progress).





Still need to fit a rubber flap to stop the dust getting in when not in use.
And the most important thing, it need to be installed in the centre console and fingers crossed, I hope it will fit in fine.

The USB socket pictured above has been fitted and it was better than the expected result. Also managed to replace the card holder in the glove box to take 3 port usb hub for music and charging. Thanks a lot for the ocean of information in this forum which helped me take the courage and complete my first piece of modification in my prado (though it was only minor). Hopefully will learn further..
