That's pretty overloaded on the roof Richo. About 140kg including the rack? But not including firewood. Lucky it didn't tip over.

Of more concern to me was the added height between the two mounting options. I was shown the set ups and advised that only slightly more height is added but around $300 if you had to buy the legs as well. Something to think about with suspension lifts etc all on the wish list.
The platform weighs about 20-25kg, so you're left with 60kg.

Yep. That will be heaps for now. Soft baggage in a roof top bag.

Good day everyone ! I am new to this forum feel like I am part of Prado Family here

I am newbie recently purchase Prado Altitude SE 2014 and so far loving it .. (I am new to 4x4)

So far I have done 900 K car, when I start the car and leave the engine running for 5 mins then drive I feel like a knocking sound coming out of engine ? is this normal for diesel engine ? when I drive for a while lets say 30 mins its settle down..

I really appreciate your feedback and suggestion thank you in advance.
Why do you leave the car idling (presumably) for 5 minutes before driving?

Even the 16 litre 600 horsepower truck that I drive for work doesn't get left that long before moving.

Modern engines (even diesels) rarely need "warm up" time after starting before driving, unless you are in extreme cold and even then 5 minutes would be more than most would advise.

The knocking on start up is normal for a diesel long as it isn't excessive and should go away shortly after beginning normal driving.

Well with mine mounted on the rails and with a Roo Systems awning bolted to the side I can still get into underground carparks, even the 2.0m variety like I have locally. The only thing I've had to take off is my TraxRax brackets as they add too much height for carpark clearance, no biggy as it doesn't take long to reattach them when needed.
