  • Seat covers

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has canvas seat covers on their prado (mine is 2014 Gxl) and what brand, how much etc?

  • #2
I have MSA canvas seat covers (also had them in my 120 series), these are the best you can get (in my opinion), but not cheap! They are comfortable, extremely durable. You get matching head rest covers with them as well. The kids have split drinks on them and the liquid just wipes off. They are a pain to fit though, especially the 2nd row, which requires unbolting the seats to get all the straps and buckles done up in the right place.

If you check the MSA web site you will be unpleasantly surprised by the price!

And if you cough up for them you will be pleasantly surprised when your seats still look new after 4 years of kids

Yep I got the MSA covers front/rear at the Perth 4 x 4 show (2014 GXL). For $880 they threw in two seat organisers and yes pain to fit but supremely snug. No doubt they will pay for themself but geez it was an expensive exercise.

+1 for the MSA seat covers. Expensive, a pain to fit, but worth every cent.

Im about to order some for my 90 series prado from caboolture seat covers.

They quoted me $150 for front pair, $165 for middle row and $165 for rear split seats.

Not sure if that is fitted or not but i think it may be! So i have ordered them for just under $500 and will call tomorrow to confirm if that is fitted !

MSA's for me, front and middle seats. A lot of work goes into making the middle seats, as there is a bit for each head rest, arm rest etc. Expensive but very good if you intend to keep your Prado for the long haul.

Any other options out there apart from canvas?
Im looking at material sets on ebay.....they range from a cheap $189 to $500+ full the full set of 3 rows.....I dont think i will ever bother with covers on the 3rd row with the minimal amount of use they will get, so should i buy seperate front/rear sets? any opinions or experience out there? There are also the waterproof wetsuit type covers that cost a bit more.....basically my 2014 GXL is a family car, 2 kids in the back, no extreme 4 wheel driving( I have a Hilux for that stuff)...so i just want to protect my factory seats.
                          thanks guys

If I didn't get the MSA covers my next choice would be The Wetseat neoprene seat covers, they seem to fit well and are comfy (in a Hilux at least).

I have "The Wetseat" in the 2nd row. Tight fitting, looks schmick and protects the seats. No complaints from the self-loading baggage....
