150 Rear Side Window Conversion

I've been thinking about converting the fixed rear side windows of my 150 to opening windows that are hinged at the top so I can get better access to the area above the wheel arches behind the cargo barrier.

Has anyone done anything similar?

No but will watch this closely! One thing that I think is a backward step with the 150.

Radio antenna is built into the glass not sure how that will go.

that would be the easy problem to solve, just put an external aerial on the car bulbar or guard bracket and hopefully get better radio reception as the bonus. not sure what the reception is like in the 150s but my 120s was crap and did this as a fix.

Yeah I was aware of the antenna in the glass. I planned to just pick up the antenna cable and run it to an external antenna
The only problem I have with my radio reception is with AM Chanels when my fridge is running. Sounds like a whole bunch of crickets in the background ( what is the collective noun for crickets anyway, an Annoyance of crickets maybe)

There must be some sort of coach builder around that can modify the windows I reckon

Radio holds Sydney ABC am until Holbrook southbound then soon picks up Melbourne ABCAm. Best I have had.

I had something similar done on a series II Landrover many years ago. The guy that did this made marine windows for boats. May be worth a try.
