Land Cruiser 150 Rear Entertainment Issue AND Nav / Coms Issue

Hi all,

So my 150 invincible arrived on Saturday but my dealer forgot to put the handbook in the car hence I have a few issues and I'm wondering if anyone can help?

1. How do you stop the nav saying "cost warning: if you continue a chargeable online connection will be established"

2. The rear roof mounted blueray entertainment has an SD card slot and I've tried putting films in it using MP4 and avi format (fat32 formatted card) but it doesn't see them, what files can be used or is mine broken?

Other than that she's a great car for the streets and school run etc

You need to go from the home screen to settings and I think its NAV menu. You will find parameters under voice and the likes to switch on/off.

I too wanted to compress some videos onto a card instead of using a disk for long trips....
I have spend a full week playing with different video formats, codec's and resolutions in the rear SD Display and have had no luck. I tried the AVCHD format and no good. Spoke to the Service Dept and they were no help, but to say its a Panasonic unit.

I have yet to speak to Panasonic, but I have a feeling they will be no help.

I hear you can play the video on the front screen (sales man said this).... I have yet to achieve this too.

I have found this setup Ok for displaying video on the rear screen. It is a Micro USB to HDMI adapter with HDMI to composite cable which is plugged into the composite connectors in the second row. I use an Samsung Android phone to play the video. The advantage is that almost any format can be played from the Android device, with No Trans-coding required. And anything on the phone or tablet can be displayed on the rear screen. The manual states that AVCHD is the only format the SD card slot will play.

The kids are happy with it, that's all that matters, the silence is priceless when you want it. The Micro USB to HDMI adapter does require 12v power for it to display to the screen, it's NOT Pretty but it works, and having the ability to just drag and drop almost any video file on to an android device and play it works for me.

I have a few tab2'S that I might just use for this setup once the kids demand it. Right at the moment we are getting away with 1 wiggles dvd on repeat for 6hr drives

that's sound about wright. I can play mp3's and look at picture too. Not sure why the manual say AVCHD when this is related to video.

Hi, I was wondering if I can play any sort of video, movie or even a dvd on a MY14 Prado gxl front screen. This model does not seem to have access to vision, only audio. Any ideas??

.... Can I update or upgrade the screen capability ... even to be able to see the maps on my phone transferred to the screen ???
