  • Middle seat shake/noise FACELIFT GXL

    Hi everyone,

I bought a brand new facelift GXL Prado in late 2014.

I love the car but I am experiencing seriously annoying rattle / shaking / scuttle noises from the middle row of seats and possibly some from the rear of the car.

I went to CMI Adelaide to get the "seat damper" kit installed" under warranty.

CMI said they just replaced the standard damper kit for the warranty Damper Kit and apparently it was exactly the same.

well in any case the shaking and associated noise from the middle row of seats is still there.

Any tips or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I also have some noises on the middle seat when going over bumps or small pot holes. Not sure what it is.
It is very noticeable when it happens but i never really considered it out of normal.
Its as if the middle seats were not latched properly or something is not installed correctly and when i go over small bumps or pot holes it vibrates/shakes, not sure where it is coming from.

Hey mate have you had any further luck with this? I have the same rattle/squeak in the mid row seat. I've taken it to Toyota a couple of times and finally they ordered the seat dampener kit. When I went to collect my vehicle after installation they advised the facelift model already includes this kit and that Toyota currently has no solution for this.

I have the same problem with my 2015 VX Prado.
But in my case, the problem is intermittent. Sometimes it is very loud and noticeable and other times it doesnt rattles at all.
I tried sliding the middle seats back and forth a locking it securely in a position and it seems that it reduced the rattle quite a bit.
        Rattle still happens intermittently though.

Ok, mine seems much the same as what you've described. Sometimes I don't hear it for weeks, then I'll hear it quite a bit. I just did a 1200km trip and didn't hear it at all, but now that I'm driving around town at lower speed I'm hearing it again.

Have you had it with Toyota and if so what have they said?
