  • Maintenance interval

Toyota recommends 5,000km or every 3 months. (Diesel 1KD-FTV)
Do you guys think this is really necessary if you dont do absolutely any towing, off roading or any real hard work?
I use it mostly as a cruising car averaging around 10K km a year and mostly city driving, what maintenance interval do you guys recommend?

I was thinking about doing oil changes every 5K or 7.5K (Still havent decided) regardless of time with a top notch filter (Fram Ultra) and Mobil Delvac 1300.

In Oz, it is usually every 10k unless driven under severe conditions. If so, then it is every 5k.

I do lots of city driving, probably like 99% is city driving and like 90% or even more is stop and go which means it idles a lot.

        No it's not really necessary.
But engines & gaskets are better looked after if you change it every 5000.

What's better brush your teeth once or twice a day?
        Is twice really necessary?
